Chinook / Coho Salmon (Lake Ontario tributaries) October 1 (main run) – November 30 3/day 15 inches minimum Salmon River in Pulaski is the most famous — fish can be caught Sept through November. Charter boats on Lake Ontario also produce salmon.
Striped Bass (Hudson River) April 15 – December 15 1/day 23–28 inch slot limit (Hudson River north of George Washington Bridge, effective May 1, 2024) IMPORTANT CHANGE (2024): Hudson River striped bass north of the George Washington Bridge now have a 23–28 inch slot limit — fish outside this range must be released. Saltwater regulations (28-inch minimum) apply in lower Hudson/coastal waters. Always check current rules with DEC as striped bass regulations continue to evolve.
